Call for Papers for ‘Picteilín’ Creative Media conference hosted by the Creative Arts Research Centre at Dundalk Institute of Technology, Thursday, 17 May 2018.

In conjunction with the Éistigí Music Conference.

Deadline for Abstracts: Friday 13 April 2018.

 

Conference Theme:

Creative Media and Games Studies: Narrative, Interactivity, and Emergent Digital Practices.

The digital media sector is one of the most dynamic sectors of a knowledge economy, with the creative origination that underpins the creative media industries affording much potential for experimentation. This conference aims to provide a platform for Irish and International academics, postgraduate students and practitioners to share knowledge and expand the boundaries of research that pivot on pixels.  Contributions are sought under the following themes:

 

  • Game Studies
  • Creative Media Content Creation and Technologies
  • Creative Pedagogy and Transformative work practices
  • Media, Culture, Community and Society
  • New Media Narrative Forms

 

It is envisioned that there will be short and long academic research papers, practical exhibition installations, poster sessions, workshops, games and screenings.

We invite proposal abstracts to a maximum of 300 words, submission are made via the online form at https://goo.gl/forms/DsSDPm9TUUnKtT6F3
